A fire outbreak on Monday morning affected a section of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation complex in Abuja, prompting workers to evacuate parts of the building.
Eyewitnesses said the fire was first noticed around 8:20 a.m., when thick smoke began billowing from a section of the structure. The incident reportedly occurred in Section C of the Head of Service building within the government complex.
Staff members were seen hurriedly leaving the affected area as emergency responders were alerted and moved in to contain the situation.
The media department of the Head of Service office later confirmed the incident, stating that the fire was confined to Section C of the building and was being handled by emergency officials.
Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire. An investigation is expected to commence once the situation has been fully brought under control.
