The Federal High Court in Kaduna, presided over by Justice Rilwanu Aikawa, has adjourned the bail hearing of former Kaduna State governor, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, to April 14, 2026.
The matter came up in court on April 1, during which both the defence and prosecution presented their arguments. Following the submissions, the court ordered that El-Rufai remain in the custody of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) pending the next hearing.
El-Rufai is facing a 10-count charge filed by the ICPC, including allegations of conversion of public property and money laundering. He pleaded not guilty to all charges.
The former governor arrived at the court premises around 9:00 a.m. in a black Hilux vehicle, accompanied by officials from the Department of State Services (DSS).
