From L-R Rwanda's President Paul Kagame and Tanzania's President Jakaya Kikwete
It was reported that Rwanda and Tanzania Presidents recently met behind closed door to discuss about DRC crisis as it affects Rwanda, coupled with Tanzanian leader’s accusation that his Rwandan counterpart hold talks with the FDLR militia, which is responsible for the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
CEOAFRICA.com gathered that Presidents Paul Kagame and Jakaya Kikwete of Rwanda and Tanzania respectively, met in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda, after the closure of the Heads of State and Government of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR).
Although there were no further details regarding the private meetings of the presidents, but officials are upbeat about the outcome.
The meeting came just a few days after Tanzania officials were quoted in the media as saying that Dar es Salaam had requested Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni to help mediate between President Kagame and Kikwete.
