Protesters on Wednesday converged on the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja as part of an ongoing demonstration tagged “Save Democracy.”

Participants were seen wearing branded “Operation Save Our Democracy” T-shirts, while others carried red and white placards bearing various messages calling for electoral reforms and accountability.

Videos circulating online show protesters and supporters of Aisha Yesufu, Mama Pee, Peter Obi, Kwankwaso, and several other activists participating in the protest. Demonstrators chanted solidarity songs, including the popular refrain “We no go gree,” while some called for changes in the leadership of the electoral body.

In a related development, another video showed opposition political figures and party leaders reportedly assembling at the Maitama Roundabout in the Federal Capital Territory, where they were expected to join or lead the protest.

As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official statement from INEC or security agencies regarding the demonstration.
