Nigerian singer and songwriter Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, has announced a change to the date he will celebrate his birthday, signaling a further rift between himself and his twin brother, Paul Okoye.

In a post shared on his X account on Monday, the artist stated that November 18 will no longer be observed as his birthday. He added that he would not acknowledge messages or gifts sent on that date going forward.

“I’m making it official. November 18th is no longer my birthday celebration date. Please note that I will not be accepting any messages or gifts on that day,” he wrote.

Okoye further revealed that he will now mark his birthday on November 30, describing the decision as personal and expressing appreciation for the understanding of fans and well-wishers.

The announcement comes against the backdrop of a prolonged and increasingly public dispute involving his twin brother, Paul, and their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.

Peter and Paul, formerly of the music duo P-Square, parted ways after years of disagreements centered on management, finances, and allegations of betrayal. Although the pair reunited in 2021, tensions later resurfaced, with Peter accusing Paul and Jude of marginalization and financial misconduct. In response, Paul alleged that Peter had reported them to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The conflict intensified in June 2025, when Peter publicly stated that he had severed ties with his family, particularly his brothers.
