A PortHarcourt High Court has ordered the release of the International passport belonging to the Chidi Lloyd, Leader of the River State House of Assembly so that he can seek for medical attention abroad.
CEOAFRICA gathered that Justice Sobere Biambo having give this order, warned Chidi Lloyd that the passport must be returned to the custody of the court on or before October 28 as access is only going to last for six weeks.
Prior to this, it would be recalled another Rivers State High Court judge, Justice Letam Nyordee, had last month ordered the lawmaker to submit his international passport to the court as part of a bail condition in a case brought against him over his role in the July 9, 2013 fracas on the floor of the assembly chambers.
However counsel to Lloyd, Beluolisa Nwofor, had filed an application to the High Court, pursuing the release of the passport of his client so as to enable him seek medical treatment abroad, alleging that his condition became worsened during his period of incarceration by the police.
