Former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, and Senator Seriake Dickson are among prominent political figures attending the National Convention of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) holding in Abuja on Saturday.
The convention, taking place at the Los Angeles Event Centre on Ahmadu Bello Way in the Federal Capital Territory, is expected to attract delegates and party stakeholders from across the country.
The gathering comes days after a strategic political meeting hosted by former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, which was attended by Obi and Dickson, fueling discussions about emerging political alliances ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Political observers have continued to speculate about a possible collaboration between Obi andKwankwaso under the NDC platform in the next presidential election cycle, although the party has yet to make any official announcement regarding its 2027 ticket.
Obi and Kwankwaso recently defected to the NDC from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), a development widely seen as part of ongoing realignments within the opposition political landscape.
