FIFA has announced that Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido will perform at the Los Angeles edition of its 2026 World Cup countdown concert series, scheduled for June 10 at Crypto.com Arena.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the world football governing body confirmed that the Los Angeles event will also feature electronic music act Major Lazer, led by Diplo, as part of an international music programme leading up to the tournament.
“Los Angeles will play host to a high-energy celebration, featuring Diplo’s Major Lazer and Davido, the first artists announced for what promises to be an unforgettable night of music, football and culture,” FIFA said.
The concert is part of a synchronised live series spanning the three 2026 World Cup host nations — Canada, Mexico, and the United States — designed to connect simultaneous performances across multiple cities, including Mexico City and Toronto.
FIFA added that performances from the additional host cities will be streamed live as part of the integrated global showcase.
The announcement follows earlier confirmation that fellow Afrobeats star Rema will perform at the World Cup opening ceremony, alongside international artists including Future, Katy Perry, Anitta, Tyla, and LISA.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup, organised by FIFA, will begin on June 11, 2026, with the opening match scheduled at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.
