FIFA has confirmed that Slovenian referee Slavko Vinčić will take charge of the 2026 FIFA World Cup final between Spain and Argentina.
The world football governing body announced the appointment of the match officials on its official X account on Friday ahead of Sunday's highly anticipated final at the New York New Jersey Stadium in the United States.
Vinčić will head an all-Slovenian officiating team, with Tomaž Klančnik and Andraž Kovačič serving as assistant referees. Jordan's Adham Makhadmeh has been appointed as the fourth official, while Mohammad Alkalaf will act as the reserve assistant referee.
The 46-year-old official is featuring at his second FIFA World Cup and will oversee his fourth match of the tournament. He previously handled two group-stage games and one knockout-round fixture.
Sunday's final will be played at the 80,663-capacity New York New Jersey Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 3:00 p.m. local time (EDT).
The Spain-Argentina showdown will be the 104th and final match of the expanded 48-team FIFA World Cup, jointly hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, bringing the historic tournament to a close.
