Hosts Morocco will take on Cameroon on Wednesday evening in the semi-final of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium.

The encounter will be the first meeting between both sides in the competition since 2000, when Cameroon came from behind to record a 4-1 victory after Morocco had taken an early lead.

Cameroon will be making their seventh appearance against a host nation at the WAFCON. However, the Indomitable Lionesses are yet to secure a victory in their previous six encounters, having scored in only one of those matches — a 1-1 draw with Ghana in 2018.

Morocco, on the other hand, are aiming to reach their third WAFCON final after eliminating defending champions South Africa with a 2-1 quarter-final victory.

The Atlas Lionesses have won both of their previous semi-final matches, with each victory coming after extra time and penalties.

Morocco have already secured their place at the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, where they will make their second appearance in the global tournament.

With a place in the WAFCON final at stake, both sides will be determined to produce a strong performance and book their place in the continental showpiece.
