Retired British Colonel Murdered in Kenya

From Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya, CEOAFRICA received a report that a retired British army colonel was killed during a robbery incident at his son’s home this weekend.

It was gathered that Edward Loden, who was a former colonel in the Parachute Regiment with the Military Cross medal for service, was on holiday when he was shot.

The attack happened after armed men forced their way into the compound in the Langata suburb.

According to a family statement released few hours immediately the incident happened states that the death of Col. Loden was a brutal tragedy. He died on the way to hospital.

Col Loden, having served meritoriously, retired from the Army in 1992, and after following a career in business management, retired to pursue his love of sailing in 1999.

He was married to Jill and the union was blessed with two kids Jamie and Will.

Sources revealed that the killing comes after the murder of another former British army colonel, David Parkinson, who was killed by an armed gang at his home near Nanyuki, Laikipia, in August.
