The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has dared anyone accusing him of collecting campaign funds from Nigerians in the United States to produce evidence.
Obi said he would withdraw from the 2027 presidential race if anyone could prove that he received even one dollar from Nigerians in the US during his current visit.
Speaking in the United States, Obi dismissed allegations that he travelled to the country to raise funds for his 2027 campaign.
He maintained that he was funding his activities personally and paying his expenses throughout his international engagements.
Obi said: “People are saying that on my current trip to America, I have gone there to collect money from Nigerians in the diaspora.
“If anyone can show me one person in America who gave me even one dollar, I will end my 2027 campaign.
“I am using my own resources and paying all my bills. I am running around the world, trying to do the right thing.”
