‘How would you tell a 50-year-old woman how to live her life?’ — Charlyboy responds to critics of daughter’s engagement

Veteran Nigerian entertainer, Charlyboy, has responded to criticism from netizens questioning his daughter’s decision to get engaged, insisting that she is old enough to make decisions about her own life.

In a post shared online, Charlyboy said his daughter is 50 years old and has lived long enough to understand herself and make independent choices.

“How you wan tell 50-year-old woman how to live her life? At that age, she don don live enough life to know herself,” he wrote.

The entertainer said that while he could offer advice and express his opinion as a father, he had no right to control the life of another adult.

Charlyboy disclosed that his daughter has five children and a great-grandson, stressing that she would remain his daughter regardless of the choices she makes.

According to him, she had previously been married, where she “see pepper,” before moving on to another relationship after leaving the marriage.

“I no fit choose her happiness for her. My own father couldn’t stop me from becoming Charlyboy, the man I wanted to become. So who am I to stand in front of my daughter and try to control the life she has chosen for herself?” he asked.

He maintained that everyone deserves the freedom to pursue happiness on their own terms, adding that he wished his daughter and others well.

“At the end of the day, na love remain. Make everybody live their truth and find their own happiness,” he added.
