PDP Reassures Nigerians of Its Commitment to Transform the Nation

CEOAFRICA.com gathered that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party in Nigeria has reassures its commitment to transform the nation. This was disclosed at the post-mini convention dinner hosted by President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

Speaking at the event, President Jonathan explained that the party, despite present internal crises, remains strong and committed to better the lives of Nigerians. He also said the present crises would make the party stronger to deliver more dividends of democracy to the populace.

Also, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Godswill Obot Akpabio, who spoke on behalf of PDP governors, reassures the President that governors would corporate with him in moving the nation forward

“Let me assure you that PDP governors are solidly behind you, and we shall work to project the ongoing transformation agenda of this wonderful administration,” Akpabio said.

Other speakers at the dinner include Vice-President Namadi Sambo and deputy Senate President, Ike Ekweremadu.

It was gathered that the auspicious occasion was graced by eminent members of the party including its executives led by the national Chairman, Bamanga Tukur, former chairmen, Barnabas Gemade, Dr Haliru Bello and Ahmadu Alli. Others are Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha, Senator Ibrahim Mantu, Senator Ken Nnamani, Chief Bode George, and Senator Andy Uba.

Others are former governors Diepreye Alamieyeseigha (Bayelsa), Boni Haruna (Adamawa) and Sam Egwu (Ebonyi).

Also in attendance were Professor Jerry Gana; chairman, PDP Board of Trustees (BoT), Chief Tony Anenih, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyawu, Senator Florence Ita-Giwa and Ambassador Aminu Wali.

Governors at the occasion were Godswill Akpabio (Akwa Ibom), Seriake Dickson (Bayelsa), Liyel Imoke (Cross River), Ibrahim Shema (Katsina), Hassan Dankwabo (Gombe) and the acting governor of Taraba State, Garba Umar.

Also in attendance were Governors Usman Dakingari (Kebbi), Emmanuel Udua-ghan (Delta), Theodore Orji (Abia), Gabriel Suswam (Benue), Jonah Jang (Plateau), Idris Wada (Kogi), Mukhtar Yero (Kaduna), Sullivan Chime (Enugu), Martin Elechi (Ebonyi) and Isa Yuguda (Bauchi).

However, notable among the absentees were former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt.Hon. Aminu Tambuwal
