Alhaji Mohammed Sadiq, the Chairman, Joint National Association of the Physically Challenged in Taraba, on Friday advised members of the association against selling their voter cards to politicians.

Sadiq told the News Agency of Nigeria in Jalingo that the warning was imperative as desperate politicians were planning to pay any amount for the cards.

Sadiq said, “It has come to our knowledge that some desperate politicians are willing to take advantage of our conditions to buy our voter cards.

“Let me state very clearly here that poverty is not madness.

“Our cards are our weapons. Therefore, we must not sell them to desperate politicians.”

Sadiq said he had summoned a meeting of members to discuss the development, stressing that anyone found wanting would be sanctioned.

He called on the physically-challenged persons to ensure that they receive their voter cards and use same in voting for candidates of their choice during the polls.
