A mental health expert, Dr. Vincent Udenze, has raised the alarm on the increase in drugs and sexual abuse across the country despite the effort being made to curb the menace.

CEOAFRICA news desk gathered from the responses of the medical expert on an interview in which he deliberated upon the solution to the challenges posed by inhumane act.

According to Dr. Vincent who revealed that over 18 million Nigerians are with mental disorder, Nigerians are not really informed on the extent of drug and sexual abuse across the country.

He assert that some people start using drugs and engaging in sexual abuse because they are trying to cope with difficulties, advising parents to always have open discussion with their children to forestall the destructive occasion.

He however admonished that people should be alert and be ready to seek professional assistance if they suspect any abnormal change among persons around them or even in their personal reaction, adding that depression also contribute to mental disorder
