
The Head of civil service in Oyo State, Mr Soji Eniade, has called on the entire civil servants in Western Nigeria to come together to re-invigorate the development plan for the South-Western part of Nigeria.
Eniade, made the call while receiving the director general of the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria, Mr Dipo Famakinwa, at his office, in Ibadan, on Wednesday.
Eniade, emphasized the role expected of civil servants in executing the development agenda for Western Nigeria, stressing that no meaningful achievement could be recorded without the cooperation of the civil service in the region.
He expressed confidence in the ability of the region to provide the necessary human and material resources for the development of the region, especially in the areas of agricultural and economic development.
He also enjoined the director general to support the region by providing the necessary data to assist in planning for the regional development.
Earlier in his remarks, Famakinwa, also stressed the importance of a regional integration in the Western states, which would involve all the six states in the region, irrespective of the political affiliation.
He said the commission has succeeded in initiating cultural tourism, involving all the six states in the western region, which, according to him, will showcase the cultural heritage of the Yoruba people.
Mr Eniade was later presented with one of the publications from the office of the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria.
