Dakuku Peterside
In continuation of his ward to ward campaign, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, has visited the 12 wards of Bonny Local Government Area to sensitize the people on his policy thrust.
Accompanied by the state APC Chairman, Dr. Davies Ikanya and Chief Victor Giadom, Director General, Greater Together Campaign Organisation, Peterside told the mammoth crowd that gathered in each of the wards visited that the forthcoming elections meant much to the future of Nigeria and Bonny people must flow with the tide of change enveloping the country.
The governorship hopeful who received the endorsement of the people of Finima as delivered by Waralabo Airigha Goni-Brown said, as one of them, he understands the plight of the people, unlike others that are also campaigning saying, “it is the reason i m here to solicit for your votes.”
He said: “By the grace of God, when we come into office, my administration will among other things, address the issue of shore protection, canalization and ensure the completion of on-going state government projects in the area.”
While commending the peaceful disposition of Bonny people in the face of unjustifiable neglect by the federal government, he assured them that issues of security, healthcare, education and infrastructural development will be given priority by his government.
He decried the pains Rivers people, especially the Ibani kingdom was going through under the PDP led federal government, reminding Ibanis that the power of liberation was in their hands.
Peterside told them to beware of desperate politicians who are willing to shed the blood of innocent citizens in the name of politics, urging the people to resist such individuals or persons.
He further said: “They will bring money to you. You know what you want. Collect the money because it is your money that was stolen. Vote for conscience. Vote for APC and I assure you of a better Nigeria devoid of insecurity, corruption and incompetence.
In their separate response the people pledged their support for Peterside and other APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
