Nigeria Police Officer Wins 1 Million Naira Award at Public Service Award

The 2013 Muhammed Lawal Uwais Public Service Award was concluded in Abuja with series of activities which made this edition a memorable one.

The annual event is jointly organized by the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Nigeria Institute of Advanced Legal Studies to celebrate the legal luminary, who was once the Chief Judge of the Federation.

One of the recipients of the award was Sergeant Audu, a prominent Traffic Warden in Abuja metropolis known for his flamboyant and unique ways of controlling traffics. He always exhibit joyful mood in discharging his duty despite risks involved in the job. He is always the delight of motorists and other road users.

Sergeant Audu was recently awarded for his meritorious service by Coca Cola Bottling Company, and was featured in the adverts of the company used during the just concluded 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil. He was presented with a cash of 1 million naira for winning the 2013 Muhammed Lawal Uwais Public Service Award.

Present at the occasion were Former Interim President Chief Ernest Shonekan, NTA Director-General Mr Maiyaki and the guest speaker Amb. Babagana Kingibe.

The occasion was rounded-up with closing remarks by Femi Okeowo of NTA.
