CEOAFRICA gathered from Ghana that Ecobank has won the Best Bank for the Year 2012 at the recent Ghana Banking Awards.

The organizers of the award said the Bank of the Year award is the most coveted among 20 categories, as it is given to the bank with the highest weighted scores for customer survey, corporate social responsibility and financial performance.

This is the sixth time Ecobank will be winning this award after it won the same award at the maiden edition in 2001. It has also won it consecutively between the periods of 2004-2006. The bank also picks up Best Bank in Financial Performance, Best Bank in Competitive Pricing and was first runner-up for Corporate Banking category.

The Ghana Banking award is organized by Corporate Initiative Ghana. It is used to appreciate performances of banks in various categories of the financial service market.
