Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) has called on the Federal Government to pay the salaries of university workers on or before Friday or face another round of strike by all non-teaching staff in universities across the country.

CEOAFRICA news desk gathered this from the statement signed by SSANU President, Comrade Samson Ugwoke and which also expressed union regret over the non-payment of salaries of university worker.

The statement purported that it appeared a deliberate act considering the timing as the children’s school fees are supposed to be paid by now they are resuming but that the government has decided to seize their salaries.

According to the statement, however the union called on the Federal Government to immediately ensure that the salaries are paid before Friday, otherwise, university workers, under the auspices of SSANU, Natonal Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) will go on strike
