FG APPROVES N4.863BN CONTRACT FOR PORTS SERVICES

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved a total of N4, 863 billion worth of contracts for various services at the Nigerian ports, including contracts for security and clearance of sea weeds for inland waterways.
According to Idris Umar, Minister of Transport who made this disclosure, the approval followed a memo by his ministry to FEC seeking approval for the establishment of Command Control Communication and Intelligence Centre for Sea Ports at the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA).
He disclosed that the project is expected to create a total of 145 job opportunities, including 33 professionals and 77 non-professionals jobs during its execution and a further 35more job opportunity as the project progresses.
