CEOAFRICA news desk has gathered that Adesina Atanda, a security man has in early hours of Friday mistakenly shot his colleague while on duty.

The incident which was reported to have occurred around 3.30a.m happened in Gbaremu neighbourhood in Ibadan where the security guard was employed.

According to the report, the suspect and the deceased, Taofeek), had resumed duty on Friday and had interacted with each other without any quarrel between them.

However, Atanda who was said to have slept off along his duty, was also reported to have suddenly woke up to see a figure approaching him in the dark, and had allegedly picked his gun and shot the approaching figure in the stomach, thinking that it was an armed robber.

When Police Public Relations Officer in Oyo State Police Command, Olabisi Ilobanafor by CEOAFRICA, she confirmed that the suspect has been arrested by policemen from Agugu and that the deceased had been deposited in the mortuary at the State Hospital for autopsy while investigations were still ongoing.
