United Nations’ Secretary-General, Ban Ki-Moon, has described as encouraging the peaceful conduct of Sunday’s presidential election in Togo.
This is contained in a statement issued by UN Spokesman, Stephane DuJarric, on Sunday in New York.
“As Togo awaits the final results, all political leaders and segments of society should just continue to maintain the peaceful atmosphere which has prevailed throughout the electoral process,” it quoted Ban as adding.
The statement also said Ban urged all candidates and their supporters to resolve any dispute which might arise through established legal procedures.
