Conference of Catholic Bishops in Nigeria has appealed to both Federal and the striking ASUU to evolved mutual grounds of resolving their grievances so as to put an end to the ongoing ASUU strike.

CEOAFRICA gathered this statement as contained in a communiqué at the end of their second plenary meeting, held in Otukpo, Benue State, at the weekend and signed by their president, Most Reverend Ignatius Kaigama and the secretary, Most Reverend William Avenya.

Deliberating on the ASUU strike issue during the meeting, the Bishops pleaded that their mediation be accepted to enable the youth return to school and as well save the nation’s higher institutions from collapse.

They also advocated that the resolution should also usher in harmonious, viable and sustainable environment for university learning.
