The Senate is convening today after seven weeks of holiday to review the Medium Term Expenditure Framework which will also form the basis for their deliberations on the 2014 budget.

CEOAFRICA news desk gathered from the briefing of the Chairman, Senate Committee on Rules and Business, Senator Ita Enang in Abuja on Monday that MTEF is expected to cover the period of 2014-2016 fiscal years and also helps the nation in its revenue generation efforts.

Ita Enang illustrated that the lawmakers would deliberate on the content of the MTEF on receiving it with the intention to draw conclusion on which of the components of the framework would serve as benchmark for the budget.

He further stated that after fruitful deliberation, the framework would be passed and sent back to the executive, consequently making way for budget presentation.
