The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has in its daily shipping position revealed that a total of 87 loads of varieties of commodities are billed to visit the two major seaports (Apapa and Tin-Can Island I&II) in the Lagos district next three weeks.
CEOAFRICA news desk gathered that the ships are expected to bring in commodities such as vehicles, genera cargoes, bulk wheat, bulk maize and bulk corn bulk fertiliser, bulk gypsum, premium motor spirit (PMS), dual purpose kerosene (DPK), automated gas oil (AGO), frozen fish, palm oil, soda ash and others.
NPA also disclosed that 29 vessels out of the 87 ships are expected to bring an estimated number of 11, 268 twenty equivalent units (TEUs) containers of industrial raw materials, semi-finished and finished electronics as well as other kinds of consumable goods for domestic consumption.
The Agency added that nine ships are billed to deliver about 66,300 metric tons of general cargoes within the review period.
According to the shipping position, 17 vessels are expected to come into the Tin-Can Island roll-in, roll-out (RORO) terminal with about 6,918 units of used vehicles, new vehicles and luxury cars for the consumption of the growing Nigerian middle class population.
In terms of imported refined crude products, 13 ships are billed to bring in about 98, 000 metric tons of PMS; 23, 000 metric tons of AGO and 20,000 metric tons of DPK in the next three weeks. Also, another four vessels are expected to call the port with 10,000 metric tons of crude palm oil; 4,000 metric tons of base oil; 5,000 metric tons of soda ash and 3,400 metric tons of laboratory chemicals.
