Be Fair To All, CJN Tells Judges

The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Justice Mahmud Mohammed has called on judges in the country to be fair in the dischage of their duties to all categories of Nigerians.      
                            
The number judicial office in rhe country asked them to always take their oath of office and oath of allegiance as oaths of fidelity and affirmation to the Almighty to dispense justice without fear or favour, affection or ill-will.
 
Justice Mohammed, while swearing-in Justice Amiru Sanusi, who has just been elevated to the apex court insisted that judges must foster the supremacy of the rule of law in the country at all time.
 
The CJN said that as judicial officers in the temple of justice, judges must discharge their duties regardless of which direction the political wind is blowing.
 
He cautioned lawyers and litigants against reckless writing of petitions against court of law on issues that should ordinarily be referred to higher courts or be deemed dead issue, if such issues have been adjudicated upon to finality by the apex court in the country.
