Nigeria’s table tennis sensation, Quadri Aruna, has signed for Jura Morez Table Tennis club from Portuguese side, GD Toledos.
Although the details of the deal, which was formally concluded during a recent trip by Quadri to Paris, have not been released, the 2014 ITTF Star Player of the Year said he made the move in a bid to improve his game as well as to rub shoulder with the world’s best players.
He told our correspondent that the move was a dream come true.
“The move to France is a good one for my career and it has been a part of my dream for my career to play in the French League,” he said.
Being one of the best leagues in the world, the French league has some of the world’s best players like world number 10, Portugal’s Marcos Freitas, plying their trade there.
With this development, Quadri will join his compatriot and Africa’s most decorated player, Segun Toriola who has been playing his trade in the French league for years.
