The Federal Government has during the Global Conference on Cyber crimes held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, called for international support in combating cyber crimes in Nigeria.
CEOAFRICA has gathered according to the deliberation by the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan at the conference, that the country has put in place strategic plans to sensitise Nigerians against the evil effect of cyber crimes worldwide.
It was observe at the conference that cyber crimes are becoming more devastating than the physical war, with criminals robbing their victims of $500 million (about N80 billion) worldwide in just a year.
The conference, chaired by First Lady, Patience Jonathan, was attended by the former Prime Minister of Israel, Ehud Barak, experts in the ICT from across the world and media practitioners.
The communiqué, which was read by the minister of police affairs, Caleb Olubolade, said that online crimes have become a global challenge with a warning that if immediate actions are not taken, cyber crimes would overwhelm the world.
