Police arrest suspects with bullet wounds

Oyo State Police Command has arrested two suspected armed robbers who have been terrorizing passengers and motorists plying Maya-Igbodudu road.The suspected robbers were arrested with bullet wounds at Gaa Oloje in Ibarapa East Local Government Area of the state.

 

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Olabisi Ilobanafor who confirmed the arrest in Ibadan on Wednesday said the suspected robbers had robbed passengers of their money along the road.

 

She gave the names of the suspects as Bello Sule and Saliu Sule who came from the same village in the state.Those robbed were Alice Ojoogu (N10,000); Funmilyo Adegboye (N1,800); Afusatu Abolanle (N4,060); Senita Abioro (N12,000) and Ajibola Oludele (N3,020).

 

It was gathered that the leader of vigilante group in the council area, Sule

Ogungbenro had while on patrol along the road intercepted some passengers/motorist robbed by the passengers.On sighting the team the suspects fled when they were shot.

 

Two of the suspects were said to have escaped with bullet wounds.

A combined team of the vigilante and police led by Divisional Police Officer (DPO),DSP. Alpheus AgbeyIhane visited the scene. After thorough search and combing of the bush, the two suspects were arrested and taken to the state Criminal Investigation Department for interrogation.
