Connect Nigeria, an information search portal, has announced it will host the business environment to the first ever e-business fair in the country.
CEOAFRICA news desk gathered that the company has in line with its mission to connect businesses to markets in a convenient, fast, and easy way, has selected the theme of this year’s fair, ‘E-Business and the Growth of Your Enterprise’, which also underscores the role of information and communication technology (ICT) in the economy.
In a statement by Kunle Binuyo, editor, Connect Nigeria, the event which is scheduled to hold in October will host stakeholders drawn from different industries to discuss the prospects and challenges of conducting business electronically.
According to the statement too, Emeka Okafor, Chief Executive Officer of Connect Nigeria, noted that the number of internet users as well as people who conduct business transaction through electronic means continues to grow.
Emeka explained that the idea behind the e-business fair is to increase awareness, educate the society, as well as foster the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the myriad opportunities that accrue from doing business electronically.
He further highlighted that Connect Nigeria’s e-business fair will also be a platform to discuss issues that relate to online security and how to include SMEs and remote areas with limited internet access.
The statement noted that e-commerce will play a crucial role in Nigeria’s economy in the coming years in view of broadband growth of internet technology in Nigeria, and the emergence of the cashless policy.
However the organisation which claimed to be built on promoting businesses and information access in Nigeria reassured that the convening of this event will promote Nigeria’s place in the global economy.
