National Examinations Council (NECO) Released 2013 SSCE Result

The National Examinations Council (NECO) announced the release of the 2013 May/June Senior Schools Certificate Examinations results held nationwide with about 69.57% of candidates had credits generally, majority of whom got good results in English and Mathematics.

While informing journalists about the result, the Registrar of the examination body, Professor Promise Nwanchukwu Okpala, gave the breakdown as follows;

1,052,898 candidates registered for the examination, 681,507 (66.63%) passed English Language at credit level while 668,314 (65.50%) also passed Mathematics at credit level. 719,593 (69.57) passed at credit level, while 998,624 (96.55) candidates got five passes and above.

Also, the numbers of candidates involved in examinations malpractices dropped to eight thousand, three hundred and eight, 8,308, representing 0.80 percent.

“This year’s  result shows a remarkable improvement compared to that of  2011 result, which stood at 15.84 % pass at credit level.  2012 result  of 51. 66 % also at credit level,” the elated Registrar said.

About 36 schools involved in examination malpractices have been de-registered by the body for a period of two years.
