On Sunday, December 15th, Pharm. Ambrose Igwekamma Ezeh and his family were filled with joy as they gathered at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Olodi Apapa, Lagos, for a heartfelt Thanksgiving mass, in celebrating his recent appointment as the 16th National Chairman of the Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria (ACPN).

Father Joseph Opara, the parish priest, spoke highly of Ezeh in an exclusive interview with CEOAFRICA. "I have known Ambrose for the past four years, and he has consistently demonstrated integrity and a genuine commitment to serving others. I am not surprised to see him appointed as ACPN Chairman; his dedication to uplifting those around him is remarkable," he stated. Father Opara emphasized Ezeh's consultative approach and teamwork, noting, "He seeks a wide range of opinions before making decisions, but once he is convinced, he stands firm. His extensive experience will surely contribute to his success in this role."

In his advice to Ezeh as he assumes this significant responsibility, Father Opara urged caution regarding the "Nigerian factor" and the pervasive issues of corruption within the political landscape. He stressed the importance of serving others instead of seeking personal gain, and encouraged Ezeh to avoid "godfatherism." "Empathy and compassion are vital traits for any leader. Without them, the purpose of their position is lost," he warned, while reaffirming his belief in Ezeh's integrity.

"Stay true to yourself and continue to trust in God," he concluded. "Let your position draw you closer to the people you serve, not further away."

During his sermon, Father Opara drew parallels between Ezeh and biblical figures, saying, "Just as God anointed David, I see a similar anointing in him. I hope he leads effectively and takes this opportunity to elevate his life further."

Following the thanksgiving mass, a joyful reception took place at Umbrella Secondary School, where distinguished members of the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) and other guests were in attendance. Festivities included an abundance of food and drinks, along with lively dancing that underscored the community's support for Ezeh in his new role.

The day marked a significant milestone for Pharm. Ambrose Igwekamma Ezeh, and with the backing of his community, his journey as ACPN National Chairman is set to inspire positive change in the field of community pharmacy in Nigeria.
