N8b fraud: More bankers nailed

Another set of commercial bank workers has been arraigned in the Federal High Court, Ibadan  on a 24-count charge.

The bank workers are BabalolaKolawole, OlaniranAdeola, TogunKayode, AjuwonBolade and Samuel Ogede.

They are allegedly involved in N8-billion fraud together with some Central Bank officials in Ibadan.

The accused persons were said to have, on false pretence, falsified an account entry of the sum of N1,060,000 against the actual sum of N159, 400, 31,000.

They all pleaded not guilty of the charges brought against them.

Defence counsel OlalekanOjo, while responding to questions from reporters on whether the suspects could be granted an oral application for bail, he said it was permissible, but it should be made formal.

The court adjourned further hearing till 12June.
