DANGOTE REFINERY PROJECT WILL BOOST OLOKOLA FTZ - SAYS AMOSUN

Governor Ibikunle Amosu of Ogun State has revealed that the plan by the Dangote Group to build refinery and petrochemical plant in the Olokola Free Trade Zone will reactivate the latent FTZ.

CEOAFRICA gathered that this view from the statement from the lamentation of Governor Amosun as he deliberate against the backdrop as a result of Chevron and Shell’s withdrawal from the FTZ.

Speaking to the press in Abeokuta shortly after  the Ogun Elders’ Consultative Forum, Amosun posited that the massive investment and expertise the indigenous investors, such as Aliko Dangote, Jim Ovia and others, are planning for Olokoya FTZ would be an adequate substitute for those hitherto planned by the foreign investors.

He further elaborated Olokola Liquified Natural Gas (OKLNG) Project Company was established in 2007 by NNPC, BG, Chevron and Shell under Olokola FTZ, lying between Ondo and Ogun states following a tripartite agreement among the Federal Government, Ogun and Ondo states and investors.
