The Gambia-Venezuela Friendship Association has been launched part of the effort to strengthen relations between Banjul and Caracas.
CEOAFRICA news desk gathered that the new association which comprises of teachers, entrepreneurs among others originated at the Venezuelan embassy in Kotu under the leadership of the new ambassador, His Excellency Eduardo Medina Rubio.
Ambassador Rubio has during the launching expressed that the establishment of the link under the framework of respect and solidarity will consolidate the mutual cooperation between the two countries.
He however portend that the association is expected to keep up the strides of their late president, Commander Chavez, who he said led the struggle for multi-polar world for participatory democracy and freedom of the people; especially in strengthening relations between the two countries.
