Government of Jigawa State disclosed that it has trained 10,000 youths on various skills in the last six years, CEOAFRICA.com gathered.
The above statement was made by the State’s Commissioner for Economic Empowerment, Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammad Mago, when he flagged-off the training of 1,000 youths under the National Industrial Skills Development Programme (NISDP).
Speaking further, the commissioner said government would soon finalise plans to construct 24 new skills acquisition centres across the state in addition to the six that was earlier constructed.
Speaking at the occasion, Director-General of Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Professor Longmas Sambo Wampuk, said he was in the state to kick-start the third phase of the programme, adding that a total of 13,000 youths will be trained in technical and vocational skills as well as entrepreneurship for three months.
