Former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune and Bobby Motaung celebrates striker Bernard Parker's goal during the Absa Premiership match between Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs at Lucas Moripe Stadium on April 29, 2015 in Pretoria, South Africa.
Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung has finally admitted that Itumeleng Khune and Mandla Masango have been trying to meet with the club, but did not indicate whether the club wants to meet them or not, according to a report.
“They have attempted to meet with us but we are in camp, we are in pre-season. We are moving on as an organisation, we have a team that needs to be prepared,” Motaung was quoted as saying by KickOff on Tuesday.
“If they come here, they must have an understanding of what they want … they are free, they don't have contracts, so if there are clubs out there, why don't they sign them?”
Both Khune and Masango’s contracts with Chiefs expired at the end of June and they were not renewed as the pair apparently demanded higher wages.
“We have been talking to the players and they have been playing hardball and making ridiculous demands. In life you must humble yourself and also be clear about what you want as a person,” said Motaung.
