The Agency of the State Security Service has established that the citizens and the security agencies are jointly responsible for ensuring security of any nation.
CEOAFRICA has gathered this important declaration from the statement by State Security Service personnel, Mr. Samuel Oluwaleye who addressed the Security Orientation Symposium organized by the NYSC, Akinyele Local Government, Oyo State.
Mr. Samuel who represented the Director of the State Security Service, Oyo command, has in his speech emphasized the need for people to adopt the orientation that effective security begins with individual conscious of his immediate environment, stressing the need for people to know who lives around them.
He stated that it is very vital to develop the culture of relating with security agencies for easy dissemination of information, adding that proactive dissemination of security information to security agencies helps them to be effective in their duties.
He also pointed out that Government alone cannot bring about security but that it requires the collaboration of all people to ensure adequate security in the nation.
The Security operative concluded however that security requires the effective collaboration of all stakeholders including youths and all members to ensure the protection of basic values, territorial integrity, protection of lives and properties as well as providing peaceful and conducive atmosphere for legal business transaction.
