Oyo State governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi has assured civil servants that all issues of outstanding salaries and allowances will be resolved within the next three months, as the state government has commenced off setting its debt.

Ajimobi while addressing newsmen at the Governor’s office shortly after his arrival from the United States of America, said he had just approved another N2 billion for the payment of junior workers while another batch of money being expected within the next few weeks will be used to clear the April salary.

He explained that with the on-going Federal Government arrangement with commercial banks that all deductions from source should stop, the state government will have enough fund to clear its debts.

He confirmed the receipt of about N2.3 billion from the LNG money shared by all the states of the federation which he said cannot be described as a bail out.

“I have approved a sum of about two billion naira for the payment of workers of lower cadre with the efforts we have are making now, I can assure you that within the next three months the issue of salary would be resolved,” he said.

Ajimobi explained further that he stayed further in the USA to meet some foreign investors, stressing that three investors have now agreed to invest in the state.

Ajimobi also used the opportunity to commiserate with the family of the former vice chancellor of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Professor Akinola Salawu who died recently.
