Pope Francis has described the maltreatment of Christians around the world as “atrocious, inhuman and inexplicable” urging the international community not to remain silent.
The Holysee said in a message to the Jordanian Catholic Church today.“May global public opinion be ever more attentive, sensitive and active faced with the persecutions carried out against Christians, and more generally, against religious minorities,”
He denounced “the atrocious, inhuman and inexplicable persecution of those in many parts of the world… who are victims of fanaticism and intolerance.”
“I renew my hope that the international community will not assist mutely and inertly to such an unacceptable crime,” he said in the message, which will be delivered to the Jordanian Church by the secretary of the Italian Bishops’ Conference, Nunzio Galantin
