The family of veteran Nollywood actor Francis Duru has unveiled the funeral arrangements for the late actor, announcing that burial activities will take place in Abuja and his hometown in Imo State.

The funeral programme was contained in a statement shared on the actor’s official Instagram page on Monday and jointly signed by his sister, Anthonia Chenyi, and his first son, Ebuka Duru.

According to the announcement, the first service of songs will hold on Wednesday, November 25, 2026, at the Family Worship Centre, Idris Gidado Street, Wuye, Abuja, by 5:00 p.m.

The family disclosed that the second service of songs would take place on Thursday, December 10, at the family compound of the late Pa Theophilus Ogide Duru in Okai, Eziama, Isiala Mbano, Imo State.

The burial ceremony and interment will follow on Friday, December 11, at the same location.

The statement reads: “Service of songs in Abuja on Wednesday, 25th November 2026 by 5:00 PM at Family Worship Centre, Idris Gidado Street, Wuye.

“Service of songs in Imo State on Thursday, 10th December 2026 at the late Pa Theophilus Ogide Duru’s Family Compound, Okai, Eziama, Isiala Mbano. Followed by funeral and interment on Friday.”

Duru, who was 59, died on October 22, 2026, after battling an undisclosed illness.

His death was met with grief across the Nigerian entertainment industry, where he was remembered for his contributions to Nollywood and his memorable performances on screen.
