Megan Young, Miss Philippines has been crowned Miss World in the 2013 Miss World pageant staged on the Island of Bali, Indonesia.

Megan Young who pledged amid the graceful mood to be “the best Miss World ever” had beat the 126 other contestants, moving ahead of Miss France, Marine Lorphelin, who came second in the contest and Miss Ghana, Carranzar Naa Okailey Shooter, who came third.

CEOAFRICA news desk gathered that the competition was moved to Bali from the capital, Jakarta, because of protest hardline Muslim groups.

Ms Young in her glittering gown, wept as the Miss World sash was put over her shoulder by 2012 winner Miss China.

However the US-born Megan Young now 23 was said to have moved to the Philippines at the age of 10.
