Students with Opon Imo in Osun State
CEOAFRICA.com gathered from Osogbo that the Osun State Government will complete the distribution of Opon Imo to all secondary school pupils in the state by the first week of November.
Opon Imo as an iPad-like device loaded with 17 subjects to aid teaching and learning by Senior Secondary School Students.
The Project Manager of the invention, Mr. Sam Omoruyi, said in Gbongan, at the distribution of the device at Olufi High School, that the plan was to distribute 600 tablets everyday.
The Tutor-General, Osun West Senatorial District, Mrs. Adisa Olabamiji commended the governor, saying with the distribution of the tablets, education had completely been turned digital.
Also at the occasion, the Principals of St. Pauls Grammar School, Ilobu, and Olufi High School, Gbogan, Mr. Akinola Ojuola and Mrs. Akingbile Elizabeth lauded the efforts of Governor Rauf Aregbesola in taking education to an enviable height in the state. They also urged pupils to properly harness the functions of the device.
A student of St Paul Grammar School, Florence Alabi, said pupils would learn with ease and improve in their examinations, promising that the device would strictly be used for learning.
