SAFA New President, Danny Jordan
From South Africa, CEOAFRICA.com gathered that Danny Jordaan, former 2010 FIFA World Cup CEO, has been elected President of the South Africa Football Association (SAFA).
Jordaan, 62, defeated Mandla ‘Shoes’ Mazibuko with 162 votes to 88 respectively.
The election was conducted by the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) and was also monitored by members from FIFA and CAF, at the body’s annual congress in Johannesburg on Saturday.
Jordan will take over from Kirstn Nematandani who opted against another mandate.
The SAFA President-Elect south for the mandate on the promise to improve Bafana Bafana’s overall performance, youth development, strengthening women football as well as strengthening the Association’s financial standing. He expressed his delight about the result of the election, as he promised to fulfill his mandates.
Other elected officials include Chief Mwelo Nonkonyana, Lucas Nhlapo, Elvis Shishana, and Dr Irvin Khoza, as vice presidents.
Members of the National Executive Committee are, Gladwin White, Kwenzakwakhe Ngwenya, Nomsa Mahlangu, Poobalan Givandasamy, Xolile Nkompela Truman Prince, Ria Ledwaba, Sam Masitenyane, Advocate Norman Arendse and Natasha Tchiclas.
