It was gathered from Zambia that a housewife has allegedly killed her husband using a pouncing stick after quarreling over a cellular phone.

The Police revealed that the incident happened on Tuesday last week after the deceased demanded to know where his 20-year old wife had taken her mobile phone to and accused her of flirting with other men.

According to the Central Province Commissioner of Police Standwell Lungu, the incident occurred in Kasota area and identified the deceased as Shadrack Musonda Mwape, who died on Sunday, while the accused was identified as Adess Phiri.

Mr Lungu said the victim sustained s deep cut on the head and was briefly admitted to Mkushi District Hospital where he died.

The suspect, according to Lungu, had taken her phone for charging, but that did not please the husband, and a fight erupted.

“I can confirm that we have pick up a woman who is alleged to have beaten her husband with a pounding stick, the body is in the hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem,” he said.
