Another Nigerian pilgrim to Hajj was reported dead due to shock and excitement when she saw a large crowd of pilgrims in Madinah, Saudi Arabia.
CEOAFRICA.com gathered that Halimatu Idris, a Muslim pilgrim from Zamfara State died on Saturday, and has been buried there according to Islamic injunction.
While disclosing this to newsmen in Gusau, the Zamfara State Deputy Governor, Ibrahim Wakkala, said that the family of the deceased had already been informed.
“The deceased, a middle-aged woman, left her home and the country in good health but doctors confirmed that she died as a result of shock and excitement when she saw a large crowd of pilgrims beyond what her capacity could take,” Mr Wakkala said.
Apart from the deceased, Wakkala disclosed that two other pilgrims – Muhammadu Mande and Rabiatu Aminu, had been hospitalised after the former was hit by a car in Makkah, while the latter, a female, had severe bleeding after a miscarriage in Madinah. Both patients, according to him, are responding to treatment and would soon be discharged.
Last week, two Hajj pilgrims from Jigawa and Oyo States were reported dead in Makkah.
