The Oyo State Accord Party has written a petition to the office of the state Commissioner of Police calling for the arrest of a former caretaker chairman of Ibadan North-West Local Government, Mr Wasiu Olatubosun over campaign of calumny against the party’s candidate in the last governorship election, Chief Rashidi Ladoja.

The petition, which was signed by the state Administrative Secretary of the party, Bola Akinyemi, on behalf of the state chairman, Basiru Lawal, was titled, ‘Falsehood and campaign of calumny against the person of Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja and Accord’ and was dated August 31, 2015.

It stated that a group called Ajumose Coalition Movement led by Mr. Olatubosun, who is a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress in the state, alleged that Ladoja was responsible for the circulation and posting of Governor Abiola Ajimobi posters in some parts of the state, which suggested that there could be a rerun of the state governorship election.

When contacted, Olatunbosun said he would not like to comment on the matter because it could be viewed as prejudicial to the state governorship election petitions hearing.

He said the tribunal had earlier warned that statements relating to the tribunal should be avoided in the public.
