
Archbishop of Ibadan Archdiocese and the Apostolic Administrator of Osogbo Diocese Most Rev. Gabriel Abegunrin
The catholic Diocese of Osogbo had today celebrate the final commendation and farewell mass for late Rev. Fr. (Capt.) Gabriel Modupe Oderinde at St. Benedict catholic Cathedral Osogbo.
Rev. Fr. Oderinde who was born in 1968 died in his Ife residence on the 21 of August 2015 has been described as a man who is ready to work for both the nation and the church.
Speaking during the homily, Rev. Fr. Francis Femi Oladipo described late fr. Odediran as person who devoted his entire life to the service of wellbeing. He said late Fr. Odediran submit himself to be used by God.
The homilist however charged the congregation to emulate the late Fr. Odediran. He stressed further by emphasized on the gospel reading taking from the first letter of St. Paul to the Thessalonians 25:1-13. He directed the congregation to emulate the five virgins in the reading.
While giving his vote of thanks, the Archbishop of Ibadan Archdiocese and the Apostolic Administrator of Osogbo Diocese Most Rev. Gabriel Abegunrin thanked the members of Nigerian Army for their support during the period of the late Fr. Odediran. He therefore charged the army not to relent in their effort towards safeguarding the lives of Nigerian.
Also speaking, the Nigeria Chief of Army Staff, Maj. Gen. Tukur Buratai, represented by the President, Nigerian Army Chaplain Very Rev. Lt. Col. Charles Iwegbo described the late Fr. as a committed Nigerian Army who worked tirelessly to serve his fathers land.
